The Emerald Ash Borer's (EAB) flight season lasts through the end of September. During this time, the beetle emerges from infested trees and wood to search for new locations. While Emerald Ash Borer has not been confirmed in Mankato, it's important to take steps to minimize this invasive pest while it's the most active.
To help prevent the spread of EAB:
- Wait to prune or remove ash trees until October 1.
- Avoid moving ash wood and brush.
- Cover any ash wood and brush with a tarp if these items must be moved or disposed. Proper disposal may be done at the Minnesota Pavement and Materials Compost Site, 3600 Third Avenue. Call 507-388-3122 before delivering these items.
