Consultation has concluded.
Provide input "draft" 2020-2023 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)--a document about anticipated projects and designated funding sources. Share ideas about areas needing clarification, types, timing and locations of programmed projects, project descriptions, funding sources and suggestions for other projects.
What is the Transportation Improvement Program? Since roads don't start and end at jurisdictional lines, decisions about transportation investments benefit from collaboration and cooperation between affected jurisdictions. The Mankato/North Mankato Area Planning Organization (MAPO) area prioritized use of limited federal highway and transit funding in coordination with partner agencies.
A federally-mandated annual document--this "draft" TIP document, contains multi-model opportunities, i.e. pedestrian, bicycle, transit, highway and other transportation projects recommended for federal funding during the next four years. Projects included come from the area’s Long Range Transportation Plan. Listings include cost, funding, timing, etc.
Criteria to be included in TIP include:
federal funds
included by partner agencies; and/or
regionally significant
The TIP is a project of the MAPO. MAPO partner agencies include the counties of Blue Earth and Nicollet, cities of Eagle Lake, Mankato, North Mankato and Skyline, and the townships of Belgrade, Leray, Lime, Mankato and South Bend and the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Note: The TIP must be fiscally constrained and projects listed have been previously programmed and assigned funding sources by local agencies.
