The City of Mankato's Climate Action Plan will be a roadmap - a community-wide plan - to reduce local contributions to the causes of climate. Throughout this process, the City will be looking for opportunities to take actions, such as, decreasing emissions from buildings and transportation. The overall intended benefit is the improvement of indoor and outdoor air quality through a reduction in contributions to climate change.
The Climate Action Plan, which is funded through a grant from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), has several phases:
Community Engagement
Transportation Assessment
Ecosystem Assessment
Community Resiliency and Vulnerability Evaluation
Infrastructure Energy and Efficiency Assessment
Community Health Assessment
Community Economic Assessment
Final Report
We want your input as we work through the phases in the coming months. We need input from residents, businesses, organizations and stakeholders who are interested in contributing to the development of the Climate Action Plan. There will be several opportunities to get involved.
