<img src="https://s3-us-west-1.amazonaws.com/ehq-production-us-california/67609f6b3513610158733bf625ca93b52e7d1a1e/original/1733945510/920352a7171cd7459da37184c69a8c55_Concept_1_-_Wide_shot.png?1733945510" style="width: 622px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib">The Mankato community has the opportunity to provide input on specific design features of the updated Veteran&#39;s Memorial Bridge as part of a <a href="https://www.dot.state.mn.us/d7/projects/vetsbridge/index.html">Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) project</a>. This project, which includes the bridge and ramp interchange at Hwy 169 and Belgrade Ave., affects both North Mankato and Mankato. It involves repairing the Veteran&#39;s Memorial Bridge, replacing interchange signals, improving ramp pavement, and updating bicycle/pedestrian accommodations. Construction on the bridge is tentatively scheduled to being in 2026.We are seeking community input on the railing shape and metal emblem shape that will be featured at set intervals along the bridge. There will be six double-sided metal emblems made from Corten steel, honoring veterans. These designs have been reviewed and approved by local veterans, with one side featuring a graphic and word representing military service and the other side displaying a star and laurel wreath.Please provide your input by taking the two question survey below.

Veterans Memorial Bridge Update

The Hilltop Planning Area Study is designed to identify the vision and direction for future development in the hilltop neighborhood (the area bound by Madison Avenue, Victory Drive, Main Street and the bluff line west of Crocus Street). The study will evaluate neighborhood recommendations and concerns, existing issues and future land use plans.The City of Mankato is seeking input from neighborhood property owners, organizations/businesses, residents and general interested parties to provide direction for the area study and the vision of the hilltop neighborhood.

Hilltop Planning Area Study

In December 2023, the Mankato City Council allocated $50,000 for an exciting new initiative called the Parks Pilot Project. It aims to increase usage of Mankato&#39;s parks by introducing a variety of new features and activities. Planned additions include gaga ball pits, hammock posts, and a ping pong table in select parks.The project&#39;s main goal is to explore a variety of new activities in the parks, encourage people to try new things, and offer unique experiences for a wider range of community members. We will assess the success of these features based on user feedback, participation rates, and overall satisfaction. Your input through the survey and ideas board below will be valuable for guiding future improvements and features in our park facilities.
